Self Titled

from Beach by John Nichols

lyrics

Find the words you want to say, then say them in another way
See the human in the mirror,
and wonder what forces put them there
I write these pages with the ash of burning days
as they flicker past
We're waking up and I am here
I'll sing it so they have to hear

No stranger's view can see your world with more clarity than you
So take a look at their ideas and their books
But don't bite into the hooks

What's true to you?
You'll find you always knew.

Do you feel free?
Stuck in the back of a taxi, not even looking at the street
Well I feel free when I climb up to the top of a tree
My mind is as wide as the blue sea
Planning my ways to make history
I want to change the world!
Cliche to say, I know
But anyone can create a new style
And if butterfly effect is at least somewhat correct
You could cure disease with a well placed smile
So find the words you want to say, then say them in another way

What's true to you?
You'll find you always knew.

If you're waking up, then I am here
and I'm singing because I hope you'll hear
